East Harlem (El Barrio) ,is safer, cleaner, and more desirable a living location than it has been in decades. Unfortunately this has caught the eye of Real Estate developers, who have long tried capitalize on El Barrio’s low property values and proximity to high income areas such as “Yorkville”. The Residents of 101 East 116th Street, most of whom are in rent controlled apartments, are slowly becoming one of the many casualties of this greed.
exactly what i’ve been talking about!!!!! what’s the solution?? even to keeping resident’s kids who want to stay but are dealing with the jacked up prices of gentrification
